Caps vs Flyers pregame: Rockin’ round robin

Time to brush off the shootout loss to the Lightning, the Capitals are facing the Philadelphia Flyers in another round-robin matchup.

The Capitals have John Carlson down as a game-time decision, due to his injury from the exhibition game, and they will also be without Lars Eller. But don’t worry about Eller, it’s because he’s gonna be a papa again! Eller left the bubble, so Travis Boyd will be taking his spot. Wishing the Eller family all the best on the delivery of their new tiger cub.

The puck drops at 4 PM and Peter will meet you back here for another impeccable recap.

    Record 41-21-7 41-20-8
    Shot Attempt % 51.1% 51.8%
    PDO 100.8 100.5
    Power Play 20.8% (14th) 19.4% (17th)
    Penalty Kill 81.8% (11th) 82.6% (6th)

    Projected Lines

As mentioned above, Lars Eller will be out because of baby reasons. Travis Boyd is in. John Carlson will be a game-time decision:

    Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Wilson
    Vrana – Backstrom – Oshie
    Hagelin – Boyd – Kovalchuk
    Panik – Dowd – Hathaway

    Dillon – Orlov
    Kempny – Gudas
    Siegenthaler – Jensen

    Holtby

    The Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars last won a game on February 25th. That was the day that I had come home from a fantastic birthday weekend with my best pals and also started a brand new job. Twitter user Alyssa Turner couldn’t have put it better.

    • Is….is the NHL developing a sense of humor?
    • Juan Soto made cardboard cutouts of his family and put them in the stands. Might be seen as creepy in different circumstances, but not now. It’s so cute.

    • The Capitals will be hosting a full-team practice at Fort Dupont Ice Arena during the 2020-2021 season.
    • Super sad news, NBC Sports had some pretty massive layoffs.
    • If you saw the recent unfortunate Jake Muzzin injury, the Maple Leafs came out with an update.
    • Caps baby alert!!! Lil baby Lars Eller is coming soon and Eller has left the bubble to attend the birth.
    • Alex Chiasson is not doing too shabby with the Oilers.
    • TOOTH ALERT. Nick Ritchie got punched in the face.

    Whew

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m having a rough time. I can’t focus, I am always tired, I’m overwhelmed by little tasks, etc. Just feeling incredibly heavy things and I know that I need to take some work time off to reset, but it’s hard to do that when you’re not going anywhere. I know I’m not alone in this, a ton of you probably feel exactly the same.

SO, how do I try and get myself outta these weird funks? Sometimes it’s movement, it’s reading, it’s taking a day off, or it’s just laying on the floor and staring at the ceiling. It’s also sometimes just revisiting my favorite videos and I thought I’d share a couple with you guys. If you need more, tell me. I’d also love to hear how YOU get yourself out of funks.
