Juan Soto made his grand return to the Washington Nationals on Tuesday and Wednesday he finally played in his first regular-season game of the MLB’s coronavirus-shortened season. Soto has missed the first few weeks of the year due to multiple positive COVID-19 tests.
And Soto debuted with his family in attendance. Well, sorta.
Soto had nearly a dozen cardboard cutouts of his family made and put in the left-field seats so they could be at Nationals Park with him.
There are more than a dozen cutouts in the seats behind the LF wall at Nationals Park. They show a bunch of Juan Soto's family members. He had them made so they could "be here" to celebrate his season debut.

What an adorable and thoughtful tribute.
Soto made a sliding catch in the outfield and hit a double, driving in a run, during his first at bat.

The night before, Soto made national headlines when he danced on top of the dugout to celebrate Josh Harrison’s first home run with the Nationals.
Check out these moves.
