The Washington Capitals sure took their good sweet time getting into their first “real” game of the postseason, but Evgeny Kuznetsov’s eager stuffage on a power play late in the second has evened the score.
With Brayden Point doing time in the penalty box, the Caps PP took the ice. After underwhelming results in earlier efforts, the power play did work this time, wrapping up with Kuznetsov at the post, stuffing a puck past Andrei Vasilevskiy on a second effort.

It’s the second straight game Kuzy has scored using the Nexus AVT stick that has a hole in its blade.
Dmitry Orlov earned the primary assist. The Caps tell us that Kuznetsov is now one goal shy of passing Dale Hunter (25) for fourth-most playoff goals in franchise history.
The goal came two minutes and eight seconds after Richard Panik’s send in.
