Brian MacLellan is not only the Capitals’ Senior Vice President, General Manager, and Alternate Governor. The 61-year-old is also now what I’d consider a TikTok artist.
MacLellan participated in the Flames’ “Pass the Cup Challenge”
The '89 Flames put their spin on the Pass the Cup Challenge and it's amazing. 🤗

The video features the 1989 Stanley Cup-winning Flames team passing a replica Stanley Cup around and either hoisting or drinking from it. MacLellan appears to still fit easily in his old number 27 jersey.
Absolute legends appearing in the video include Lanny McDonald, Doug Gilmour, Gary Suter, Joe Nieuwendyk, Mike Vernon, and Theo Fleury. Former Capitals assistant coach, Tim Hunter, also makes a cameo.
MacLellan is the latest member of the Capitals organization to appear in a TikTok video during the coronavirus pandemic. Trade deadline acquisition Brenden Dillon completed the Dip and Lean Challenge with his fiancee Emma Wittchow.
“I don’t wanna throw any of the guys under the bus from the Capitals, but TikTok was something that was around pregame meals,” Dillon said. “Guys were scrolling through and checking them out. Like I said, I don’t wanna name any names. By the end of it there, I’d be brushing my teeth in the morning and busting out something in front of the mirror. I have to blame the ole lady for that one, but she roped me into it.”
Though he quickly retired after his first.
“I think it’s probably gonna have to be my last with the amount of chirps I took from the guys and friends back home,” Dillon said. “It was a short-lived dance career, but I’ll stick to hockey.”
Let us hope Mac never retires from TikTok and even makes his own account. That will save us from the quarantine.
