Former Capitals defenseman Mike Green took to his Instagram Story late last week to post video of one of his most prized hockey collectibles. Green showed off a signed Capitals Young Guns poster featuring himself along with Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, and Alex Semin.
The two-time NHL All-Star tagged Ovechkin, Backstrom’s private Instagram account, and a fan account of Semin. He added four grandpa emoji 👴👴👴👴.

The posters were a wildly-popular gift to Capitals season ticket holders in the late 2000s.
The version Green has is a second design of the poster by the team. The original poster has more of a Western-style design.

During the NHL season’s suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic, Green has posted more on social media, showing off his newborn daughter Lula.
“She’s a doll,” Green wrote in the comments of an RMNB post.

Green, who was dealt to the Edmonton Oilers at the trade deadline, has scored 37 goals in parts of five seasons since signing with the Detroit Red Wings as an unrestricted free agent in 2015.
Recently, NBC Sports called Green’s 31-goal season with the Capitals in 2008-09 as the tenth most impressive single-season stats in NHL history.
During his time in Washington, Green was a two-time Norris Trophy finalist. After leaving for Detroit, Green bought and renovated a home in the DC area. He shared that his no. 52 tattoo he had on his hand is one of his favorites.
