Caps at Rangers pregame: A new day up north

We’re shaking yesterday off. Today is a new day. Thursday is always a better day than a Wednesday. The Capitals have traveled north to play the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Truly hoping that the Caps show up in a mood that doesn’t involve the penalty box.

Puck drop is at 7 PM and Peter will once again be back here with your recap. You lucky dogs.

Record 35-27-4 40-20-6
Shot Attempt % 46.6% 51.7%
PDO 100.8 100.3
Power Play 23.6% (5th) 19.8% (17th)
Penalty Kill 78.1% (20th) 83.3% (4th)

Projected Lines

Not sure about the lines situation since the boys were travelling, but it shouldn’t be anything crazy. These were the lines yesterday:

Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Wilson
Vrana – Backstrom – Oshie
Hagelin – Eller – Kovalchuk
Panik – Dowd – Hathaway

Dillon – Carlson
Orlov – Jensen
Siegenthaler – Gudas

Holtby

Ottawhew

The Ottawa Senators are still the Ottawa Senators. Jim Little was fired after two months as the CEO because uh….apparently he was swearing. Here’s the statement from Little.

Storylines

Katy Perry
