On top of 700 goal merchandise being made available in the NHL store, Nike has published two new shirt designs honoring Alex Ovechkin’s 700th goal as well as a 700 Club hat.
The new merch can be purchased in Alex Ovechkin’s personal Nike store.
The Ovechkin Store went up this past December and offers items that can not be found elsewhere such as Ovechkin’s red undershirt that he wears under his jersey during games. It includes The Great 8’s Nike shield logo.
“He’s exceptionally proud of it,” David Abrutyn, Ovechkin’s longtime agent, said. “He certainly enjoys the creative parts of these things. Nike doesn’t design logos for every athlete, but for the iconic ones they do. For Ovi, they wanted something that would be universal and stand the test of time, and this one has.”
Each item is made to order in the United States and can be shipped to Russia where Ovechkin has millions of fans.
