The Washington Nationals returned to Dulles Airport early Thursday evening right as a vicious cold front moved through the area. With winds gusting up to 50 MPH, the Washington Nationals were honored with a water salute from two fire trucks before de-boarding.
First baseman Ryan Zimmerman, Mr. National, was the first to emerge from the Delta flight. He held up the MLB’s Commissioner’s Trophy to a select crowd on the ground as manager Davey held up a Nationals’ American flag.

Here’s a classic photo from the Washington Post.
And pics from the Nationals’ Instagram account.
Of course, Sean Doolittle came off the plane with his lightsaber.
The #Nationals arrived home after winning their first #WorldSeries championship! A few questions:
-Is Adam Eaton doing the Lion King there?
-What is Max Scherzer wearing?
-How many hugs did Stephen Strasburg get?
-Is a lightsaber a TSA approved carry on item? @nbcwashington pic.twitter.com/1IuEIGRDMQ— NBC4 Sports (@NBC4Sports) October 31, 2019
Before arriving home, the Nationals took a photo of the pilots.

The team sang We Are The Champions.
The players’ children also trick-or-treated on the flight home too.
The Nationals championship parade will be at 2 pm on Saturday.
