Capitals 2019 first-round pick, Connor McMichael, has been tearing it up in the OHL since being cut from Training Camp.
McMichael scored a hat trick for the London Knights in their game Saturday against the Hamilton Bulldogs. McMichael’s hatty helped lead the Knights to a 7-3 victory.
The 18-year-old center now leads the OHL in goals scored after scoring seven in his first four games.

As of Monday morning, McMichael leads the OHL in goals (7) and powerplay goals (4). He’s also third in the league in points with 10.
Todd Reirden had nothing but good things to say about McMichael before he was loaned back to the Knights.
“McMichael is excellent with the puck,” Reirden said. “His offensive reads and feel for the game has been very strong for a young player so far.”
Former Capitals and current London Knights head coach Dale Hunter said there are certain areas that he can improve before returning to challenge for a permanent place on the Caps roster.
“He’s got to get his body a little stronger, but you can see his potential,” Hunter said of McMichael’s potential to the AP’s Stephen Whyno. “The top end is untapped yet. He’ll get better and better.”
