Your latest in Caps hockey action came against the Windy City’s Blackhawks who were downed by the Caps early on in the preseason and downed once again late in the preseason.
Your Caps goal scorers were Liam O’Brien, John Carlson, Tom Wilson, Lars Eller, Jakub Vrana, and Eller once more.

Additional notes
- It’s preseason, but I give you permission to play some Bailamos.
- Braden Holtby got his first taste of preseason action, relieving Pheonix Copley in the second period. Both netminders stopped all shots that came their way.
- Craig Laughlin called Lars Eller a horse in the first period. I wonder if he’s a Schleswig Coldblood or a Danish Warmblood.
- I didn’t like that Andrew Shaw hit on Martin Fehervary that was ruled “charging” by the officials. That fits in well with my general dislike of Andrew Shaw. Good on Tyler Lewington for stepping up for his younger teammate.
- I’m noticing some changes to the Caps offensive zone play and some smaller things in the neutral zone as well. There’s an added aggressiveness from all three forwards on the forecheck and more shots being taken from the point with Alan May’s favorite layers of traffic. I like what I’m seeing and it’s something to keep watching once the real hockey starts.
- Time zones should not exist during preseason hockey. An 8:30 PM Wednesday start in September? You’re killin’ me, Gary.
