The Carolina Hurricanes will be hosting their 20th annual Caniac Carnival this season, a family-friendly event which includes inflatable rides, live music, and carnival games and booths.
The event culminates in a free NHL preseason game featuring the Washington Capitals.
That’s right, the Hurricanes are offering free tickets to see the Capitals play the Canes on Sunday, September 29, at 1:30pm.
Free tickets will become available on September 4, on a first-come, first-served basis. A ticket is still required for entry into PNC Arena and seating will be general admission.
Parking will also be free, and the arena will be featuring discounts on select food and beverage items.
Festivities begin at 10am on September 29, when the carnival area opens to the general public. No ticket is required to attend the carnival.
Doors to PNC Arena open at 11:30am for fans to claim their seats and listen as Canes television play-by-play announcer John Forslund hosts a “State of the Hurricanes” discussion. The puck drops at 1:30pm.
In prior years, the Caniac Carnival featured an intra-squad scrimmage and an autograph session with players, but those events were replaced with the free preseason game, which last year was against the Nashville Predators.
