Washington Capitals Training Camp is now less than a month away and begins on September 12. Capitals roster players and prospects around the globe are feeling the pressure and warming up their new gear as they begin to ramp up their offseason workouts.
On Tuesday, social media provided a thorough snapshot of what the Capitals, including the team’s captain, were up to as they prepare for the 2019-20 season.
Spoiler alert: they’re all working really, really hard.

In Arlington, The Athletic’s Tarik El-Bashir reported that John Carlson, TJ Oshie, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Ilya Samsonov, Alexander Alexeyev, and Joe Snively were participating in a spirited skate with the team’s strength and conditioning coach Mark Nemish.

Meanwhile, Alex Ovechkin, who is back home in Russia after his trip to China as an ambassador, was documented lifting by his personal trainer Pavel Burlachenko.
Capitals’ top-six forward Jakub Vrana was back home in his native Czech Republic, working out with his longtime trainer Ales Parez as well.

Parez recently revealed that Vrana “was last year’s winner of the explosive squat jump tested for his entire NHL team” noting that “this is the main reason he is so fast. Strong people are fast people, it is this simple.”

Finally, Capitals prospect defenseman Martin Fehervary documented some arm workouts he was doing back home in Slovakia.
