The Vegas Golden Knights shared a video of noted-prankster and controversial person Ryan Reaves pranking his teammates.
Most of the team’s reactions ranged from surprised to eerily unperturbed. But the reaction from ex-Capital, current Knight, and smiley media darling Nate Schmidt was…how can we say this delicately…refreshingly unrestrained?
The 6’1″ forward was helped into an ornate suit of armor by the Vegas crew. He then stood in an alcove, statue-still, waiting for the opportune moment jump out at his unsuspecting prey.
Schmidt walked in from the Vegas parking lot with a hint of swagger in his sprightly step. He was tucking away his sunglasses and holding his cell phone–probably checking the forecast to see if the day was sunny enough, or if he’d need to give the atmosphere a boost by smiling–when Reaves leaped out at him dressed as a knight.
Schmidt then literally levitated and appeared to have a straight-up heart attack on camera.
After Nate Schmidt made a quick spin and exited the zone with Hagelin-like haste, Reaves and the video crew had time for a good well-deserved laugh.
Honestly, Canadian center Brandon Pirri’s reaction might be the most fascinating. The man has nerves of steel. Unlike Reaves’s suit, he is unflappable.
