Brandon Duhaime may be gone, but his Halloween prank lives on another year — now with two much less scary dudes.
Ryan Leonard and Cole Hutson did their best to terrorize their teammates ahead of Halloween, donning clown and zombie masks to ambush them as they walked into the rink.
Not only did the young guns mostly fail, but Alex Tuch gave Hutson a stern talking-to after he popped up behind the door to the weight room.
“Hello, Tucher,” Hutson said.
“That was bad,” Tuch said, not flinching. “That was really bad.”

Dylan Strome, who last year lost control of his body and hit a seated Heisman pose when Duhaime popped up out of nowhere, was wise to the trick in 2026, giving a look at Leonard like Nope, not fallin’ for it.

“Didn’t get me, not this year,” Strome said, before pumping his fist like he had just won the Stanley Cup. “LET’S GO!!!!!”
Then Hutson popped up above the door frame.
“Didn’t get me either,” Strome said, pointing in his face before celebrating further.
Jakob Chychrun was also unfazed by Hutson’s efforts.
“Nooooo way,” he replied as Leonard laughed in the background.

Dylan McIlrath put his fists up, scaring the scarer.
Logan Thompson responded, “What are you doing, man???”
“I just wanna get one person good,” Leonard said, having realistic expectations. He would eventually get his wish with several guys.
Timothy Liljegren, in his first full season with the Capitals, had some fright when Leonard, the insane clown, appeared out of nowhere.
Pierre-Luc Dubois became Pierre-Luc DuNOPE, appearing to see his life flash before his eyes.
“Dude, I was worried about my bagels,” he said, trying to play it off.
Aliaksei Protas cowered, then backed up slightly before realizing what was going on.

Leonard then lowered the temperature by hugging the big Belarusian, who was appropriately wearing a hat that read HAPPY.

Finally, Justin Sourdif remained cool and calm, but his insides were not. He put his fingers on his neck to check his elevated heart rate.
Happy Halloween, if you dare.
