The Washington Capitals take team photo for 2018-19 season

Wednesday morning, the Capitals converged at MedStar Capitals Iceplex to take their team photo. RMNB’s Cara Bahniuk was present to capture the moment (and any fun capers) on camera.

Michal Kempny, recovering from surgery on a torn left hamstring, was not present, but team athletic trainer Mike Harrington wore his gear for the team photo. Kempny’s face will be photoshopped onto Harrington’s body.

Also notable from the shoot were Brooks Orpik’s black eye, Evgeny Kuznetsov helping a young woman who almost fell walking on the ice, and Jonas Siegenthaler fixing his hair about 200 times.

Last March, the pictures were taken in Capital One Arena, which did not yet have its championship banner.

Past hijinks have included:

Of course, the last time the whole team really got together for a team photo was in October, when the team received their championship rings and posed together with Lord Stanley. The Keeper of the Cup also released photos of the team with the Cup in the dressing room before the Stanley Cup parade.
