Capitals players take photo with Stanley Cup after receiving championship rings

The Washington Capitals’ private party Monday night was a historic affair. The team got to see their engravings on the Stanley Cup for the first time. They also received their stunning championship rings.

At the end of the night, the players took a photo with the Stanley Cup and it’s fantastic.

Nastya Ovechkina posted video of the team picture to her Instagram Story. Almost every player does a captain planet pose showing off their new bling on their right ring finger.

The players also put their rings around the bowl of the Stanley Cup.

Former Capitals goaltender Philipp Grubauer, who’s now with the Colorado Avalanche, was in attendance for the ceremony.

The Capitals posted an official photo featuring the team’s captain and two alternates: Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, and Brooks Orpik.

And here’s the official photo.

The Capitals’ three Russians also took a photo together with Stanley.

So awesome.
