The Champ Champ was here.
Conor McGregor, the UFC’s former featherweight and lightweight champion, dropped by two liquor stores in Maryland and Pennslyvania on Friday to promote Proper No. Twelve, an Irish whiskey company he founded and owns.
Cranbrook Liquors, located in Cockeysville, Maryland (near Baltimore), posted photos from the appearance, which includes a pic taken with a Caps fan.

McGregor’s hockey ties this weekend do not end there. The fighter was at Saturday’s game between the Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets.
McGregor gave a pregame speech to the Bruins inside the locker room.
What’s up, Boston Bruins? YES.
When I say BOSTON, you say STRONG.
Remember, nothing heroic gets done without support, without unity. We must back each other. We must support each other. Before you go out, look left, look right. Know that these people are your brothers. These people are who you fight for. Fight until victory.
Boys I wish you the best. Let’s go Boston Bruins.

Then he dropped the ceremonial first puck, which was an experience onto itself.

He shook hands with Zdeno Chara and Boone Jenner. Then he told Chara to “put him through the net.”

McGregor’s most excited moment came when Brad Marchand scored 1:30 into overtime. Marchand did McGregor’s walk out to the ring as his goal celly, which was inspired by WWE’s Vince McMahon.

“It’s not every day you have an icon like that here in the room and in your presence. I was just having a little fun with it,” Marchand said.”He’s an incredible guy. Very energetic. He was humble. He was very happy to be here. He was very engaged with everyone. It was an honor to meet him.”
Former Capitals forward Marcus Johansson, who is out injured, even got to take two different pictures with McGregor while he was at the game.

McGregor is six days removed from being arrested for smashing a fan’s phone in Miami. He was also arrested in 2018 for throwing a steel dolly at a UFC bus in Brooklyn.
His next fight is unknown, but currently being negotiated.
Alex Ovechkin met McGregor last July during the World Cup Final in Russia.
