Wednesday night, the Washington Capitals continued recent winning ways by extending their current streak to five games, securing a 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers to do so.
The Caps out-shot the Flyers 35 to 30.
- Andre Burakovsky scored his tenth goal of the season, giving him six points in his last eight games. This is the fourth season in a row that Andre has recorded a double digit goal total.
- Congrats to Nick Jensen as he recorded an assist on Nicklas Backstrom‘s goal which was his first point as a Washington Capital.
- Another great game from the third line. The Caps got 70-percent of the shot attempts and scoring chances at five-on-five with that trio on the ice. Carl Hagelin also recorded his first assist with the team.

- Somehow Natural Stat Trick has the Caps with only five high danger chances at five-on-five through two periods. I’m not sure I was watching the same game as the ole calculators.
- The Caps now move on to Friday and have yet another Metro Division foe to take down in the New Jersey Devils. The Devils currently sit at the bottom of the division and have lost four games in a row.
