The Washington Capitals flew home from New York last night after collecting four standings points against the Rangers and Islanders. Alex Ovechkin was picked up at Dulles Airport by his wife Nastya Ovechkina, who had dinner waiting for him at the couple’s Northern Virginia home.
While wearing a red RUNNING SUCKS shirt, Ovi was documented by Nastya eating borscht while his dog Blake tried to get a bite himself.
The RUNNING SUCKS shirt is an older design from Nike. Ovechkin has an apparel deal with the company and frequently wears Nike’s shirts and sweatpants at home. Recently, Nike sent Ovechkin’s son Sergei baby clothes and shoes. Ovechkin’s personal logo, a shield with a number 8, was designed by the company.
Ovechkin’s latest t-shirt has been a hit on social media.
Who needs running when you can simply park yourself in the same exact area and take the same exact shot every single game and literally no one can stop you pic.twitter.com/tbo5ET7gVE

The shirt is especially ironic since Ovechkin is one of the greatest and most durable players of all-time.
While Ovechkin chowed down on borscht last night, he also had the opportunity to do so again today after practice Monday. Nastya Ovechkina brought her borscht to MedStar Capitals Iceplex for all of the players to try for themselves.
Borscht is sour soup common in Eastern Europe and across Russia and is made with beetroots (hence the red/purple color).
RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
