Madison Bowey has been traded and Devante Smith-Pelly has been sent down and that sucks. Nick Jensen has tattoos and a dog and Carl Hagelin is a speedy Swede with beautiful hair. We’ll see how that pans out.

Also, the Capitals beat the Rangers 6-5 in overtime, yay, woohoo.

Pregame

Madison Bowey used to hold Jakub Vrana’s hand as they went out onto the ice together before each game. With Bowey gone, we wondered how the tragically separated brobeans would deal.

But Vrana looks TOTALLY FINE without Bowey and SO ARE WE.

Back when Nick Jensen was with the Red Wings, he knocked Alex Ovechkin over one time and Ovi slid on his butt for a while, so that was fun.

During the “Game”

Conno straight-up sat on some dude like he was a floatie in a swimming pool, but then he helped him up, just like DSP lifted the spirits of everyone in DC.

The replies to this tweet about Tom Wilson’s fancy twirl are hilarious and worth reading. Please come back after enjoying the hilarity.

There were Many Shenanigans. Luckily, MSG did a montage of the rough and tumble plays.

Nicklas Backstrom scored first!

Michal Kempny scored second!

Tom Wilson scored third!

This was Wilson’s 17th of the season. He pointed at Vrana immediately after to recognize his work on the primary assist and Vrana was happy as a puppy about it.

LOOK HOW HAPPY VRANA IS.

Stupid Sexy Lundqvist was less than happy and broke his stick about it.

Nic Dowd scored fourth!

He got a hug from New Capitals Family Member Carl Hagelin, who did a pretty good dang job of it.

Dowd’s first goal of the game got him a head-boop with TJ Oshie and a head-pat from Holtby’s goalie glove.

Backstrom scored fifth!

Was anyone else concerned he’d cry or break something if he got a hatty?

Meanwhile, Ovi bowed down in the face of Nicklas Backstrom’s greatness, as should we all.

Kuzy scored 6th!

Nicklas Backstrom wasn’t on the ice for Kuznetsov and Ovechkin’s overtime game-winning goal, that honor went to the three Russians, but he was still first to the hug.

In conclusion

I wrote a post about reasons to be happy about Carl Hagelin, and Nick Jensen and his dog Murphy are definitely adorable, but.
