Carolina Hurricanes captain Justin Williams was known for his smart two-way play and durability in Washington.
That durability came in handy Thursday night when he scored a goal off of his face.
Williams parks himself just to the right of Panthers goalie James Reimer, and as Brett Pesce wrists a point shot through, it catches Williams on his nose.
The overhead shot shows that Williams trying to turn his head away.
Williams immediately falls to the ice, and skates back to the bench doubled over. No celebratory goal hugs here.
Williams returned to the Carolina bench within minutes after his nose stopped bleeding because of course.
