At the beginning of October, we reported that Justin Williams was making hockey fun again with several creative post-game celebrations, including a slow clap and a jump into the boards at one end of the rink.
It turns out those celebrations may have been inspired by his former teammate Evgeny Kuznetsov.
In a recent celebration, Brock McGinn led the Hurricanes in a slow clap, followed by a kayak celebration after the Hurricanes beat the San Jose Sharks in a shootout.
Another win. Another epic celly. #TakeWarning pic.twitter.com/IrTemQaLOn

If that looks familiar, it’s because Kuzy celebrated kayak-style when he played for KHL team Traktor Chelyabinsk.
He also led the Traktor fans in an escalating cheer chant, building it up by jiggling his stick and arms, then quickly raising his arms three times, before kayaking down the ice.
Kuzy’s plethora of celebrations also include the birdwalk from the FIFA video games, push-ups, and playing dead.
He has yet to celebrate with the floss dance from Fortnite, but the Hurricanes Dougie Hamilton did just that after the win against San Jose, and the Hurricanes Twitter account gave the Calgary Flames some shade with their comments.

Just don’t tell the Vancouver Canucks about the Fortnite celebrations.
