Caps vs Rangers pregame: Walkin’ on air

The Capitals remain at home while they host the New York Rangers for a Wednesday night showdown. The Rangers won last night in overtime against the Colorado Avalanche after a winning goal from some guy named Kevin Shattenkirk? At any rate, you can probably expect the Rangers to look a little sleepy.

In terms of the Capitals’ lineup news…oh boy, oh boy. Or should I say “Oi boy, oi boy” because our Aussie Angel Nathan Walker is back in the lineup tonight. Walker was previously replaced by recently signed Dimitrij Jaskin.

Your recap will be delivered promptly after the game by Mr. Peter Hassett. Game coverage is on NBCS Washington will be kicking off at 6 PM, and you can stream it all online. Even the game, so if you’re out and you want to watch the game instead, don’t be ashamed to run away to the bathroom and watch the stream. No judgement zone here, I’ve been there.

Storylines

Ireland

I’m leaving to visit Ireland tonight for a week. I thought I would highlight the best, and only, things from Ireland that I know. I should’ve probably prepared more:

  • Guinness and Jameson. Two old reliable choices for me.
  • The color green. I’m assuming Ireland thought of the color green.
  • Oscar Wilde‘s birthday was yesterday and I know he was Irish. I don’t like poetry very much, but I respect it.
  • Saoirse Ronan. She rules!!! An icon!!!
  • Music that makes me want to hop around. Doesn’t all Irish music just make you want to hop or bounce around?
  • Those warm, fisherman sweaters that you can get at L.L. Bean? You know the ones.
  • The Ferryman. I saw this play last week about a family in Northern Ireland and it knocked my socks off. I’ll probably go again.
  • Irish dancing. My sister was an Irish dancer and used to practice in pubs around Northern Virginia. I remember some of her steps and how boring the competitions were.
  • My Fair Lady. Wasn’t that George Bernard Shaw? I don’t actually know.
  • The Irish goodbye. One of the many reasons people hate me.
