Caps at Penguins pregame: The Pittsburgh who?

As far as I am concerned, last night looked pretty dang easy for the Washington Capitals. It should be simple for them to replicate last night’s performance again for the rest of the season, but especially tonight when they travel to Pittsburgh to play the Penguins.

I always had an anxious knot in my stomach when we played Pittsburgh. Maybe it was just a hope-esque feeling of wanting the Capitals to do well enough to prove themselves or something. Anyway, it’s now gone because I don’t care about them. I don’t even know who the Pittsburgh Penguins are anymore.

Chris from the comments will have his first recap of the season for you after the game. You can watch pregame coverage on NBCS Washington beginning at 6 PM and you can stream it online.

Stats from last season:

Record 47-29-6 xoxo
Shot Attempt % 52.3% (7th) we did it
PDO 99.9 (14th) see ya suckers
Power Play 26.2% (1st) hahahaha
Penalty Kill 80.0% (17th) byeee

Projected Lines

What’s the point of tweaking the lines if they worked pretty dang well last night:

Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Connolly
Vrana – Backstrom – Oshie
Burakovsky – Eller – Stephenson
Walker – Dowd – DSP

Orlov – Niskanen
Carlson – Djoos
Orpik – Bowey
