Get ready to Rock the (Vintage) Red again this season.
For the 2018-19 season, several NHL teams have revealed new third jersey options, and last Friday it was reported that the Capitals would be among them. The defending Stanley Cup Champions officially revealed their third jerseys on Monday morning.
The jerseys are modeled after the original uniforms that Capitals wore in 1974 (sorry, no primary weagle yet).
The team had similar thirds from 2015-2017, but they were discontinued last season after Adidas took over from Reebok as the NHL’s official uniform producer.
Take a closer look at the details via the @Capitals:

More from the Caps:
The Washington Capitals will wear their third jersey, modeled after the team’s original red jersey for 12 home dates during the 2018-19 season, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.
The primary color for the uniform is red and closely resembles the team’s jersey worn from 1974-75 through 1994-95. The original Capitals wordmark is featured on the front of the jersey with six stars above it and five stars beneath the numbers on each sleeve. The Capitals will wear blue pants and red helmets with their third jerseys.
The Capitals’ third jerseys are available at the Capital One Arena and MedStar Capitals Iceplex team stores.
