Last week, former Capital Justin Williams was named the 16th captain of the Carolina Hurricanes.
On Tuesday, the newly minted captain revealed that fans could get a “C” on their Hurricanes jerseys for free.

The reason the C’s are free is because Williams will cover the cost of any fan who wants to add the letter to their jersey. The promotion is good through opening night on October 4, which also happens to be Williams’ 37th birthday.
“It’s something I’m very humbled by and very proud of and something I don’t take lightly,” Williams told Michael Smith of NHL.com.
The C’s will be sewn on at The Eye gift shop at PNC Arena.
