Two months ago, Alex Ovechkin became a Stanley Cup champion, realizing a professional dream that seemed to be fading from his grasp. During the team’s celebration on the ice, Ovechkin was interviewed by Scott Oake. Overwhelmed, he spoke about his joy about finally winning it all. He also confirmed that his wife Nastya was pregnant.
“It’s unbelievable. I’m just happy,” Ovechkin said.
Saturday, an emotional Alex Ovechkin took to Instagram to announce the birth of his first child. Sergei, named after Ovi’s late brother, was born in South Florida.
Ovechkin called 8/18/2018 “the most wonderful day of my life.”
The Russian machine posted a photo of his son’s foot in his hand.
“08/18/2018 …. ❤️ Thank you, my girl, for the most wonderful day of my life !!! @ nastyashubskaya ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” Ovechkin said as translated by RMNB’s Graham Dumas.
Nastya Ovechkina posted the same photo with three very good hashtags.
“18.08.18 🙏🏻❤️ #welcometothisworld #ourkid #ovechkinJr”
So cute. Welcome to the world, Sergei.
