TJ Oshie is following in the footsteps of Nicklas Backstrom and spending some time in his shortened offseason on the golf course.
Oshie is participating in the American Century Championship golf tournament again and he’s having even more fun this time around.
First, Oshie held an impromptu dance party on the pitch with Jeremy Roenick, who is another celebrity participant. It’s too bad Alex Ovechkin’s favorite new song My Neck, My Back wasn’t playing. He also threw a basketball from many, many feet back and someone made it into the basket.
WERK IT, @Jeremy_Roenick & @TJOshie77! π― #ACCGolf pic.twitter.com/WcG8DGUbqd

While Oshie has been busy golfing, his wife Lauren and two daughters Lyla and Leni have been enjoying the beautiful Tahoe weather. The family has spent some time on the course watching their papa play.
Lyla even joined her Dad out on the green for a quick hug.

But the best was when Oshie attempted to teach Leni how to golf. Holding the club in her hands, he chipped a ball and made a hole-in-one.

He quickly celebrated before remembering he had to congratulate Leni. I mean, she did most of the work there. Leni is super modest and didn’t celebrate, but her sister yelled a quick “YAY LENI” to show her support.
Talk about a hole in one!!! #Leni the princess and golfer! https://t.co/Ad0hOfF4Dq

The American Century Championship is an all-celebrity golf tournament which began in 1990.
The golf tournament uses a modified scoring system where positive scores are the best. Oshie finished Friday with a -2 and is placed 63rd out of 92 golfers. San Jose Sharks forward Joe Pavelski is in first place with 25 points. Only one non-athlete has won before, with former baseball pitcher Mark Mulder winning the last three tournaments.
