Alex Ovechkin repeats season mantra at Caps rally: ‘We’re not going to be f$%*ing suck this year’

Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin made a promise at the beginning of the 2017-18 season: “We’re not going to be suck this year.” We made the shirt, Ovi wore it, and it became a mantra to carry the team through the season.

On Tuesday, at the rally following the Championship parade celebrating the Capitals’ historic win, Ovechkin repeated it one final time. With a little bit more… colorful language.

“I say we’re not going to be f$%*ing suck this year,” Ovechkin said to the roaring crowd of Capitals fans. “We’re the Stanley Cup Champions.”

Ovi is right. We were not suck this year. Here’s to your 2018 Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals.
