Evgeny Kuznetsov has one change he’s making ahead of Game Six. His… gum?

On Monday, the Capitals enter their first elimination game in the 2017-18 postseason. With the Lightning rallying to win three straight games, after losing the first two of the series, the most common question the media is asking is what are the Capitals going to change to get that crucial win.

Evgeny Kuznetsov’s answer might not have been exactly what they were expecting to hear.

“Maybe change my gum from mint to bubble, you know?” Kuznetsov said, when asked about the biggest thing he’d change. “Yeah, dumb question, dumb answer.”

The response got the intended laughs from the reporters, as well as Kuznetsov himself, though he went on to reiterate his belief in this Washington Capitals team.

“Now you know how we feel. We stay positive. We excited to have a game,” Kuznetsov said. “Sometimes it’s happen, when you going to give up the bad goals, when you going to have bad days. But it’s all about how you going to respond, right? We’re all excited here, and that’s the life give us another chance to approve.”

The Capitals have not lost four games in a row all season long.
