On Monday, the Washington Capitals finally exorcised their demons and beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in Game Six, advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 20 years.
After the big win, the Capitals made their way back to DC from Pittsburgh and at Dulles International Airport, Nastya Ovechkina waited for Alex Ovechkin to land. Nastya took to instagram to show off a celebratory sign at the airport as well as a little extra surprise from the Arlington County Police Department.
While waiting for her husband, Nastya was served with a warning, but it couldn’t have been a big deal since the officer issuing the ticket wrote “Go Caps” on it.
Nastya is not alone in receiving a ticket after a huge Capitals playoff victory. Following the Capitals first round series-clinching win in the 2017 playoffs, Mr. Game Seven, Justin Williams, received a speeding ticket.
Regardless of the ticket, we doubt anything will bring the Capitals, or their partners, down after booking their place in the Eastern Conference Finals. Plus, the sign at Dulles was pretty cool rotating between the phrases “Let’s go Caps,” “2018 Year of the Caps,” and “Finish it!!!!”
