Former MLB MVP and Las Vegas native Bryce Harper is a very optimistic, positive hockey fan.
I say this because Bryce is tweeting about his daydreams of a Caps-Golden Knights Stanley Cup Final – no matter how unlikely.
Could you imagine a @GoldenKnights vs. @Capitals Stanley Cup?🙌🏻 #Epic

The Capitals, who are in a very competitive series with the Pittsburgh Penguins, haven’t made it past the second round during the Alex Ovechkin era. The Vegas Golden Knights have won six of their first seven playoff games, but are an expansion team. No team has ever won the Stanley Cup during their first season in the NHL.
I gave him some advice.

Lately, Harper has been more vocal about his support of the Golden Knights, putting the logo of the Vegas Golden Knights on the knob of his bat and putting a hockey puck from the team in his locker.

He also recently watched a game while wearing a hockey helmet.
But he remains very supportive of the Capitals.
Last Thursday, Harper, wearing a Vegas Golden Knights hat, attended Game One along with Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer, according to reader Bridget Cosgrove.
She sent us a selfie with Bryce and a photo her mom took with Scherzer.

“Bryce just kind of snuck in,” Cosgove said. “My mom spotted him in the security line and texted me about it. Then I saw him at will call. No one had really recognized him yet. He walked in with his wife and met Max Scherzer in line.
“We weren’t going to bother him, but then saw another guy in line ask him for a picture, so we seized the opportunity for a selfie,” Cosgrove continued. “He was hesitant at first, but smiled for the picture. My mom got one with Scherzer too. Max was funny, when she asked to get one with him he said, ‘sure, but I’m walking!’”
In December, Harper went to T-Mobile Arena to see the Golden Knights play the Capitals for the first time in team history. Vegas even had Bryce drop the ceremonial first puck.
Harper even owns a Golden Knights jersey of former Capital Nate Schmidt.
I hate to say this, Bryce, but if the Capitals made it to the Stanley Cup Final, I’m pretty sure we know how it would all end. They wouldn’t play Vegas.
