Down three games to one against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Flyers entered Game Five needing a win to bring the series back to Philadelphia.
They survived, beating the Penguins at PPG Paints Arena 4-2.
Flyers captain Claude Giroux opened up the scoring near the end of the first period. During the second period, Bryan Rust scored on a backhanded wraparound. Jake Guentzel followed, giving the Penguins the 2-1 lead.
A few minutes later, Flyers forward Valtteri Filppula tied the game 2-2 with a shorthanded goal.

The play of the game came from former Capital Michal Neuvirth who robbed Sidney Crosby with 52 seconds remaining in the game.
Channeling Alex Ovechkin, Giroux predicted the win after the Flyers practice on Thursday.
“We’re not ready for our season to be over,” Giroux said to the Philly Inquirer’s Sam Carchidi. “We know if we play our game, we can win. So we’re going to go out there, play our game, and be back for Game 6.”
Never doubt your captains. This series goes back to Philly for Game Six on Sunday.
