The Washington Capitals officially begin what we hope will be a deep Stanley Cup Playoff run on Thursday. Monday morning, the team launched a variety of promotions and activities to get fans excited for the postseason.

The Washington Capitals announced today several initiatives in recognition of the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs presented by Boeing. Capitals fans are invited to participate in several activities to mark the postseason, including:
Capitals Uber Trivia Challenge
On Tuesday, April 10, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., fans in Washington, D.C., can participate in the Capitals Uber Trivia Challenge. Open the Uber app and look for a special message to request a ride from Capitals mascot Slapshot and in-game PA announcer Wes Johnson. Slapshot and Johnson will host a trivia contest during the ride featuring the opportunity for the passenger to win two tickets to the first home game of the 2018 Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at Capital One Arena.
Soar to the Playoffs Pep Rally, presented by Boeing
The Capitals will host their annual Soar to the Playoffs pep rally, presented by Boeing, on Tuesday, April 10, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Melwood Elementary School in Upper Marlboro, Md. The event will feature street hockey, poster making, giveaways and appearances by Slapshot and the Red Rockers.
ALL CAPS Ticket Challenge
Capitals fans are invited to participate in an ALL CAPS Ticket Challenge on Thursday, April 12, for a chance to win tickets to Game 1 of the 2018 Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 12, at 7:30 p.m. at Capital One Arena.
The ALL CAPS Ticket Challenge and updates will be released through the team’s official Twitter account, @Capitals.
Caps Viewing Party
Join the Capitals in welcoming Yardhouse to the Chinatown neighborhood in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, April 19, during a Game 4 viewing party from 7-10 p.m. The event will feature appearances by Capitals personalities including Slapshot and Red Rockers.
Rock the Rink Playoff Rally
The Capitals will host free street hockey clinics as part of Loudon Inlines family day at Trailside Park Outdoor Rink on Saturday, April 14. The clinics will be run by the Capitals Street Team driven by AAA. Slapshot and the Red Rockers will be in attendance, hosting raffles, giveaways and more.
The first clinic will run from 10:45-11:30 a.m. and is open to children 12 and under. The second clinic runs from 2:30-3:30 p.m. and is for participants 13 and over.
In 2016 the Washington Capitals refurbished the Trailside street hockey rink as part of grant from Industry Growth Fund from the National Hockey League and National Hockey League Player’s Association.
Established in 1997, Loudoun Inline serves the hockey community of Loudoun County, Va. In 2014, the Ashburn Fury travel team launched to help establish the RSL (Regional Select League), where teams play other Inline programs from Northern Virginia. Red Deliveries
Capitals mascot Slapshot and Red Rockers will visit more than 50 bars throughout the Washington, D.C., area in coordination with Anheuser-Busch to deliver Capitals décor, flags and additional items in celebration of the Capitals playoff run.
Caps Playoff Practices
Fans are encouraged to attend the Capitals’ playoff practices the week of April 9. In addition, on Monday, April 9, and Tuesday, April 10, NBC Sports Washington will stream Capitals Practice Live hosted by Rob Carlin with Alan May and Tarik El-Bashir beginning at 11 a.m. at NBCSportsWashington.com. NBC Sports Washington will air a playoffs preview show, Caps Playoff Preview, on April 9 at 7 and 11:30 p.m., on April 10 at 8 p.m. and on April 11 at 6 p.m.
MSE Foundation Auctions
Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation will host a So Kids Can auction during the 2018 Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinals to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, DC (RMHCDC). This auction will feature autographed items from So Kids Can participants Nicklas Backstrom, Braden Holtby and Tom Wilson, along with two suite tickets to Game 2. The So Kids Can auction will open April 10. The auction for the Game 2 suite tickets will close at the end of the 2nd intermission during Game 1 on April 12. The auction for the remaining items will close at the end of the 2nd intermission during Game 2 on April 15. All “For Sale” items will be available until sold out. #ALLCAPS Campaign
Beginning Monday, April 9 fans are invited to pick up 12”x18” “We Are ALL CAPS” campaign signs for lawn placement. The offer is limited to one item per person. Fans interested in obtaining an ALL CAPS sign for their yards should follow the team’s official Twitter account, @Capitals, for pickup information.
