Caps at Blues pregame: The Monday Blues

Happy home stretch! We’ve reached the final week of the regular season and the Capitals’ final road game (until the ‘loffs, of course). Today, the good boys have traveled to St. Louis to face off against the Blues. Kinda fitting since it is a gross Monday and a lot of us have the Monday blues.

While the Capitals have already clinched both a ‘loffs spot and the Metro Division title, it might seem like they can just chill out now…but there is one final thing that needs to be done. The Caps just need to start setting Alex Ovechkin up with easy shots so he can reach 50 goals. He is five away with three games remaining.

As for the Blues, they are still fighting for a playoff spot and they are neck-and-neck with the Colorado Avalanche. What’s not going to be very helpful for them? Their forward Scottie Upshall is out indefinitely with not just any sort of injury…but a lacerated kidney. He has 19 points in his 63 games with the Blues. Upshall is also the third player on the team in 13 games that the Blues have lost for the year. Not a great spot to be in for the final push into the playoffs.

This is your final late night regular season game, so we expect you to stick it out with us. The puck will drop a tad after 8PM on NBCSNWA and Pete will recap it up with ya.

    Record 43-29-6 47-25-7
    Shot Attempt % 51.7% 48.2%
    PDO 99.6 101.4
    Power Play 15.6% 22.1%
    Penalty Kill 80.3% 80.5%

    Projected Lines

Jay Beagle suffered an upper-body injury last night, so he has been ruled out for tonight. It was already announced that Holtby is starting. The rest?

    Baby Price

Little Liv, daughter of Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price, was being a cutie the other night. Top 5 hockey baby, for sure.

Maybe it ain’t such a great idea to be licking the edge of the glass like that? But, I’m not a parent I do not know. I just assume it’s like me riding the subway every day, but I keep convincing myself I’m building my immune system. Do ya thang, Liv.

    Storylines

    • That game last night? Not bad, right? Take a peek at the morning after numbers from CFTC.
    • Speaking of last night, have you heard enough about the game Philipp Grubauer had? Not tired yet? Here he his absolutely ROBBING Sidney Crosby.
    • TJ Oshie cut a Ledo’s pizza with a hockey skate even though the pizza was definitely already cut. But, he looks so proud so we’ll let him have this one.

    Yodel Kid

Okay, I have to take a second and pause to talk about that yodeling kid in Walmart. I am not only absolutely fascinated by him, but I am also captivated by the internet’s reaction to him.

For those of you that need background, I don’t blame you and I’m here to help.

People are out here remixing him and they kinda bump! I don’t know I’m not really sure if they do because my taste in music is NOT cool. All I know is that I bopped my head to these.

Anyway, very excited for him to go on Ellen and see everyone dig up some dirt on him and his family to ruin this!!!
