On Wednesday evening, the Calgary Flames took a trip to play the Colorado Avalanche. The game was relatively normal as the Flames lost 5-2, but there was one moment in particular that was probably one of the most quintessential hockey moments I’ve ever seen.
We take you to the first period with only 5:51 remaining. Tanner Glass and Duncan Siemens have dropped their gloves.
In slow motion, watch Glass and Siemens try to punch each other violently in the face.
But, the true beauty of the moment really shines when the boys are sent to their respective boxes. The combatants realize they’ve been handed back the wrong pair of gloves. Uh oh. So, in a very polite and controlled manner, they toss their gloves to each other over the glass.
Now, my question is why didn’t anyone try to help them out? Maybe the clipboard guys could’ve opened their doors real quick and made a switch? No matter, all was well and Duncan Siemens even scored his first NHL goal that night.
