While his teammates took flights home or to exotic locations for the NHL’s three-day break, Dmitry Orlov and his wife Varvara remained in Las Vegas for the holiday. The Capitals were in town after losing to the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 on Saturday – the final game before the league’s mandatory hiatus.
On Christmas Eve, the Orlovs toured the Las Vegas strip and took in a show at the Fountains of Bellagio. Dmitry later published video on Instagram of his view from the hotel window.

On Christmas Day, the couple traveled to Arizona to visit different parts of the Grand Canyon. The Orlovs posted several breathtaking photos on their Instagram pages.

Last year, the Orlovs traveled to Columbus, Ohio, to spend time with Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky and Red Wings defenseman Alexey Marchenko. Orlov and Bobrovsky are close friends from their playing days on Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
