The picture itself reads, “#putinteam is an informal movement. Everyone who shares our values can join the team!”
The caption continues:
The website of the PutinTeam movement is [now] open: www.putinteam.ru! Through the site, you can become a member of a huge team. Of Putin’s Team, which unites people who are proud of their country and want to make Russia stronger. In our leader, we value [his] trust in and and respect for people, his fairness [and] righteousness, and the fact that he really cares.
Everyone who supports those values is a member of Putin Team. If you want to participate in events with us, join us! Sign up on the website and follow us [on social media], it will be interesting!
And, of course, share this with your friends! Welcome to Putin Team!
The Putin Team site is slick and well-designed, with content ranging from biographies of Putin Team members to news and information, as yet blank, and a message from Ovi himself.
“I am Alexander Ovechkin, the hockey player. I created the Putin Team to unite those who are proud of Russia and our President, and who want to make our country stronger. Join us, and be on the team!”
A quick stroll through the biographies on the site reveals that Evgeni Malkin has already signed onto the project.
“I’m on the PutinTeam,” writes Malkin, “because I am sure that if we come together, we can do anything. Our President, Vladimir Putin, has said that Russia’s borders ‘never end.’ I can say the same thing about our abilities. The resources of real #PROFESSIONALS [sic.] is limitless, especially if there is support. Together, we will make Russia stronger.”
In addition to having a website, Putin Team also has an Intagram account, @putin_team. It includes standard propaganda shots, as well as some tributes to Putin from various members of the team.

“Putin’s Team is Putin’s team,” writes Ovechkin. “It’s for people who support the country, and really it’s a simple thing.”

A message by Ramzan Kadyrov, the President of the Republic of Chechnya, an autonomous subdivision of the Russian Federation, was reposted by the @putin_team account, alongside a photo of Putin pumping iron.
“[Our] strength comes from the fact that we are united,” wrote Kadyrov. “We cannot be conquered.”
The full Putin Team website will reportedly go live on December 7.
