Winnipeg’s security team at Bell MTS Place has a new addition: a puppy for extra cuddles… er, I mean protection.
The only thing the intimidating puppy needs is an appropriately intimidating name. The Jets have been fielding suggestions.
As of now, there are four options that are finalists.
Of course Twitter took naming matters into their own hands.

This is my dream come true.
11/10 Update: The Jets have formally announced that their new security puppy has been named Lenny.
Joining Dante, Daisy, Grace and Ryp, we are excited to announce the newest member of our in-house security dog team…

Lenny’s namesake was a World War II veteran called Len Kropioski who passed away at 98 before the season began. Kropioski was a longtime season ticket holder and made a two-and-a-half hour drive from Kenora to the Bell MTS Place for every Jets home game. When he passed away, the Jets and many fans and players honored him.
Going to miss you at our home games, but that seat in the corner will always be yours. Rest In Peace, Kroppy.

Now Kropioski’s legacy will live on in this adorable puppy. It appears the pup is having a great time so far.
