NHL players and fans throughout the league celebrate Halloween

Some people celebrate Halloween by sitting on their couch eating Milky Ways in a Donald Duck onesie. Others go above and beyond to make their costume as extra as possible. This Halloween, there was certainly a mix of effort among hockey fans and players this Halloween. But overall everyone just looked really, really good.

We’ve already got a small peek at the Capitals’ party last night, where Dmitry Orlov and his wife dressed as Beauty and the Beast and Nathan Walker appropriately was a kangaroo.

Caps fan Jenn’s son decided to become a tooth-rottingly adorable Jay Beagle

Former Capitals defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk decided to go the “extra” route this year. Shattenkirk enlisted the help of NYC-based makeup artist Brittany Phelps to transform himself into the Night King, the big bad villain from the hit TV show Game of Thrones. And she did a pretty fantastic job turning the blueliner… well, blue.

Unless King Henrik shows up wearing the actual crown jewels of Sweden, something tells me Shattenkirk won first prize at the Rangers’ Halloween Bash this year.

Oh wait, Lundqvist showed up as an IKEA bag. Okay, he wins. He definitely wins.

The Leafs Nazem Kadri was Bob Ross.

Oilers defenseman Eric Gryba dressed up as a member of KISS.

Caps fan Taylor Ford decided to go as a player in the penalty box. Channeling Tom Wilson? Probably.

Willy seems to be a popular pick among Caps fans’ costumes this year.

Meanwhile, PK Subban was….. whatever this is. A cowboy being carried by a pig?

You keep doing you, PK.

Got a hockey-themed Halloween costume this year? Post it in the comments!
