Wednesday night, the Washington Nationals lived to see another day after starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg had a masterful… no, *sick performance. Stras struck out 2016 MVP Kris Bryant three times and Anthony Rizzo twice. Michael A. Taylor put the game out of reach with an eighth inning grand slam.
In the first period of their rivalry-night game against the Penguins, the Capitals’ game entertainment crew put the final score on the jumbotron. The crowd cheered loudly.
Video: Stephanie Williams
It’s not a super long video, but doesn’t this make you feel all great inside? I noticed a Caps fan banging on the glass too.
“It seemed like a lot of people were on their phones checking the pitch by pitch during the game,” reader Stephanie Williams said in a message. “My dad and I were following along and I could hear the people behind me doing the same.”
“It’s always fun to see any example of DC sports fans supporting each other,” Williams concluded.
A similar crowd reaction happened during the Caps home opener for Game Two.

The Nats will try to advance tonight at home in Game Five. Everyone here at RMNB is sending good vibes to the Nats, because lord knows they will need it.
In their last 12 games with conf final berths on the line, DC teams are 0-12. It's just not sustainable. It can't be https://t.co/0GCBdQGbrM

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
