After participating in the 2011 Winter Classic in Pittsburgh and hosting the 2015 Winter Classic at Nats Park, Capitals fans learned back in May that the Caps would be playing in their first Stadium Series game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Naval Academy in March.
Thursday afternoon, season-ticket holders got an e-mail from the Capitals with information about ticket pricing for the game. Like the Winter Classic, Stadium Series tickets were not included as part of season ticket packages and have to be purchased separately.
Here’s the seating and pricing chart
Ticket prices start at $115 (closer to the ice, goal-end seats) and go all the way up to $475 (fancy club-level seats at the top of the stadium). Those prices do not include a $15 per ticket service charge (which during the 2015 Winter Classic was $9), or the $11 shipping per order (the WC was $10). In the e-mail, fans are warned that sight lines will not be typical of an indoor hockey game.
The team will let STHers have priority to tickets before they go on sale to the public with a special pre-sale beginning next week and ending on Friday, November 17.
They will be limited to purchasing the same number of tickets that they have on their regular season ticket account, no extras allowed. Unlike in past years with the Winter Classic, where STHs were pre-assigned seats to purchase (with no changes allowed), STHs will be able to pick where they would like to sit at the Stadium Series game should they choose to buy tickets.
