Over the offseason, former Capitals forward Justin Williams signed a two-year, $9 million contract with the Carolina Hurricanes – one of Washington’s Metropolitan Division rivals.
Saturday night, Williams played against his former teammates at the newly-renamed Capital One Arena. And 10:52 into the first period, Stick started the game’s scoring, knocking home a rebound on the powerplay past Pheonix Copley.

After Justin Faulk unleashed a shot from the point, Jordan Staal and Williams battled for the rebound with Capitals defenders Brooks Orpik and Jonas Siegenthaler. Staal would win the puck battle, swiping the puck to Williams who finished the play.
