Monday morning, NBC Sports Group officially announced their NHL schedule for the upcoming season. The Capitals will have a total of 15 games on the schedule including 13 games on NBCSN and two games on NBC for a national audience.
The first Capitals game NBCSN will feature is, of course, on October 11th vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins for their Wednesday Night Rivalry coverage. One of the two games the NBC channel will include is the Capitals’ third outdoor game at the Naval Academy on March 3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The second game to be featured on NBC will be on January 21 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

ARLINGTON, Va. – NBC Sports Group and the Washington Capitals have announced the team’s 15-game schedule for the 2017-18 season. The network’s coverage will include 13 games on NBCSN and two games on NBC to a national audience. CSN is scheduled to announce the regional television schedule at a later date.
NBCSN’s coverage of the 2017-18 Capitals begins with the Capitals game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, Oct. 11, part of NBCSN’s exclusive Wednesday Night Rivalry coverage. Additional Wednesday Night Rivalry dates include Washington against Chicago on Dec. 6, against Philadelphia on Jan. 31 and against the NY Rangers on March 28. In addition, NBC will televise the NHL Stadium Series, featuring the Capitals against the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 3 in primetime at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, located at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. Beginning on March 4, NBCSN will present five Sunday Night Hockey matchups, including the Capitals at Pittsburgh on April 1.
