Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov took to social media today to promote the opening of a new hockey training center in his hometown of Novokuznetsk, Russia.
Among the amenities featured in Orlov’s post include a treadmill-like setup to assist with skating form, and a hockey net with targets at each corner and in the five-hole area. It took the offensively gifted Orlov just 13 seconds and seven shots to hit all five targets.
Two other practice nets in the same area come complete with mock goalies who appear to be sporting faux Team Canada and Team USA jerseys.
The only way this could be better is if the goalie was wearing a Penguins sweater.
In the comments of Orlov’s Instagram post, Spartak’s Alexander Vasiliev says, “Did you guys see? They gave [Orly] the little training handles so he doesn’t fall!”
Blues superstar Vladimir Tarasenko responds, “😂😂😂 It’s ’cause he put all his strength into his shots.”
