At 10:30 on Sunday morning, all 30 current NHL teams submitted their expansion draft protect lists to the Vegas Golden Knights. The Knights have three days to make their selections before they are announced during the NHL awards on Wednesday evening.
However, instead of flying under the radar, the Golden Knights social media team has spent their entire Sunday trolling the NHL on social media.
The Golden Knights started with a simple video of GMGM picking up the protect lists from a printer. After walking into a room filled with Knights staffers, GMGM exclaims, “Here we go, boys!”

At this point, NHL fans decided to tease the Golden Knights by tweeting misspelled suggestions out. A few smrt examples include James Kneel, Orooks Brpik, Mark Andre-Flurry.
The Knights politely asked those suggestions to be placed elsewhere: in the 🗑.
A reminder that while we appreciate everyone's #VegasDraft ideas, this is where we send everyone's misspelled (🙄🙄) suggestions ➡ 🗑

Then, the Knights took a playful jab at the stress fans of many teams are feeling.
How is everyone's Sunday going? Relaxing?

To help spare players, some fans are offering up the mascots. A fan of the Sabres offered Sabretooth to the Knights. Sabretooth did not take this suggestion well, tweeting the eye-roll emoji back.

After Bailey, the LA Kings mascot, declared that he was protected in the draft, the Knights took the hint that no mascot wants to join them.
First @BaileyLAKings and now @Sabretooth_NHL. Seems like no @NHL mascots want to come to Vegas ¯_(ツ)_/¯ https://t.co/8rU4EAGqot

Some social media squads weren’t going to let this trolling outshine them. Our favorite social media crew at the Columbus Blue Jackets tried convincing the Knights that they left “lots of pizza” unprotected.
"lots of pizza" is an unlisted option fyi

But the Knights weren’t falling for those shenanigans.
nah, we'll go with a player. we might be new, but we weren't born yesterday! https://t.co/JnkrsXBFc2

The Panthers even offered up a mystery box, which is quite tempting if you ask me.
you either get:
a) one of our players
b) this exciting mystery box!choose wisely, folks. https://t.co/l1HvXWV40N

Even players started getting involved. Roberto Luongo very slyly photoshopped his name out of the available list. Nothing to see here.
Hmmmmmmm such a tough choice man………. pic.twitter.com/52cB2g2jAa

It’s only been 13 hours. I don’t know if I can handle three more days of this.
