Like many of his fellow Capitals teammates, Andre Burakovksy is on vacation. And judging by a photo he posted on Monday, he’s having a very good time.
Burakovsky, who last summer got a puppy named Kino, now has a cat in his crew.
Well a human dressed as cat.
Context is key and I will do my best to explain. The Capitals’ restricted free agent is in Marbella, Spain with the Andersson family, which features the hockey-playing brothers of Calle and Rasmus. Calle, a Rangers draft pick, plays for SC Bern of the Swiss NLA. Meanwhile Rasmus is a Calgary Flames prospect. Their father Peter played for the Rangers and Panthers before retiring. He currently coaches the Malmö Redhawks, who Burakovsky used to play for.
While in Marbella, Burakovsky, joined by his father Robert (who played 23 games for the Ottawa Senators during the 1993-94 season), appears to have gone out on the town. Maybe there’s a Spanish version of the musical Cats or maybe they’re at a circus. Maybe this person was just walking around in a cat costume and the boys were like this is definitely worth a photo op. Whatever the reason, this photo happened and is now living on Burakovsky’s Instagram page and my hard drive so it can live on forever.
During his Spanish trip, Burakovsky took a swim in a pool.

The Burracuda also golfed with his friends at the Los Naranjos Golf Club, which is a few miles away from the city.
Like an annual group trip to the Outer Banks, it appears the Burakovskys and Anderssons vacation together every year. Burakovsky posed for a photo with the Andersson brothers at the same golf course last July.
