Another September, another rookie tournament. On Monday morning, the Washington Capitals announced that they will participate in Florida for the third year in a row.
This year’s tournament will be held once again in Estero at Germain Arena, home to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
Capitals prospects faceoff against other youngsters from the Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Washington will play three games against each of the teams. The contest runs from September 9-12.
The roster will be announced later by the Caps, with some of the top players graduating to the team’s NHL training camp held following the rookie showcase.
The Caps play the Panthers at 1pm on the 9th, the Bolts at the same time of day on the 10th before ending the tournament against the Western Conference Champion Predators on the 12th.
