In the Sunday edition of the Frederick News Post, there’s a front-page feature on RMNB written by longtime local sports writer John Cannon. Cannon spoke to Peter Hassett and myself about how the blog first got created, our site’s biggest successes, and our link to Frederick, Maryland.
Over the last eight years, RMNB has changed our lives, morphing from a passion project to the first source of news for many Caps fans. We’ve accumulated nearly 45 million page views and attracted 9 million unique visitors since the site first launched. We still don’t understand why y’all like us so much, but just know we love you ten times more.
Peter and I first met in Frederick and both graduated from Frederick High in the early 2000s. Last month, we toured our 126-year-old former high school for one last time. It’s being torn down at the end of this summer and will be replaced by an updated building across the street.
This story takes all of that full circle. We take great pride in the fact that our hometown newspaper thought that our story and our site was worthy enough to be written about.
Let us know what you think.
The headline photo was taken in a Weis Markets parking lot after I bought the newspaper and first saw the feature. Yes, I’m a nerd.
