You may have noticed my photo posts on RMNB have been fewer in number this season. That’s because, in the fall, I landed the internship of a lifetime. I was hired by the Washington Redskins to shoot home games from the sidelines and professionally cover their events.
Now that the NFL season is coming to a close, I have been getting back into the groove of the spring semester at school. While I was working on assignments Wednesday night, I started receiving notifications from people tagging me in a photo on Instagram. The photo was posted by DeSean Jackson of the Redskins. Normally when this happens, it’s one of the players giving me credit for taking a photo. But in this photo, I was actually the focus of the shot.

Yup. There I am. Jackson was being metaphorical, but it still cracks me up that he used this photo.
My role with the team last season was to assist Team Photographer Garrett Campbell with all the team’s photo needs. It was an incredible experience that offered the opportunity to follow and capture a team from an insider’s perspective. We covered everything from games, practices, to events all over the DMV. I-495 became my best friend. We had over 40 events this season, and that was just the half I covered. With ten home games, I also flew out to Arizona to get some experience with an away game.
The best part of the job was the amazing people I met and worked with. Garrett put together a fantastic group of photographers to help us cover games and we really became a family over the course of the season. We learned so much from each other and it was great to have some familiar faces on the sideline.
Here’s a sampling of my photos from this past season.
This is my last semester of college, and it has me really focused me on what the next step of my career will be. And apparently it’s baseball. Thursday night I found out that I will be working for Major League Baseball as their RTC at Nationals Park this season.
I will always look back to my beginning at RMNB with a profound appreciation for your support. Thank you for giving me my start and the opportunity to share my work with all of you.
If you’d like to continue to follow me on my journey, you can follow me on Twitter and Instagram.
